Volunteer with our Tax Services!
VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) Volunteer Opportunities– No experience necessary!
Are you interested in learning about taxes in order to help the low-income Latino community? Last season VITA volunteers contributed 2,500 hours of service and helped return over $2 million in refunds to our clients! In addition to securing their refunds this invaluable service gives vulnerable taxpayers a trustworthy alternative to unlicensed tax preparers and to unnecessarily paying to prepare their basic returns.
No previous experience with taxes is required in order to volunteer, we provide our volunteers with a free 30-hour training! For the upcoming tax season we are seeking bilingual individuals to assist our clients as tax preparers and intake assistants, regardless of experience.
For individuals with tax experience – bilingual or not – we are currently seeking volunteers to help as trained quality reviewers, a role vital to the capacity and success of our program. Spanish is helpful but not required. Continuing Education (CE) credit is available for your service.
For more information on how you can help, please call our Site Coordinator at 503-489-6834.
