Volunteers for Older Adult Program

Our Older Adult program is seeking volunteers to provide service to the elder Latine community. This is a wonderful opportunity to share stories, create community and learn from our abuelitos.

Location: In-Person group gatherings happen at EPHC’s offices in Gresham
333 SE 223rd Avenue, #100
Gresham, OR 97030

When: Tuesday-Thursday from 10am to 1:30pm.

BECOME A VOLUNTEER

These are some essential duties as a volunteer:

  • Support the coordinator in the set up and cleanup of the older adults programming.
  • Assist participants with activities during the older adult’s program.
  • Assist the coordinator in the meal program such as serving, cleaning, picking up plates, among others.
  • Gather basic information from participants to complete intake forms.
  • Perform data entry as needed.
  • Utilize technology for workplace functions, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel spreadsheets.
  • Adhere to El Programa Hispano Católico policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Adult Wellness Coordinator.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Minimum commitment of one day a week for four hours.
  • Must be bilingual and bi-culturally competent (Spanish/English).
  • Possess or able to obtain a Food Handler’s Card.
  • Ability to work well in a team setting as well as possess strong self-motivation skills to work independently.
  • Ability to take initiative and prioritize tasks; good time-management, problem-prevention, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Successful completion of Oregon Criminal History & Abuse Records Data System background checks.
  • Ability to support El Programa Hispano Católico’s mission and goals.
